Dataset description

A **Low Emissions Zone — Mobility** is a defined area within which access, traffic and parking are prohibited for certain categories of polluting vehicles. **Climate Resilience** Law, passed on August 22, 2021, calls on 35 communities with more than 150,000 inhabitants to implement their ZFE-m by January 1, 2025. The **ZFE-m de Saint-Etienne Métropole** is bounded by the Stéphanian motorway triangle, which is 34 km² between the RN88, the A72 and the RD201**. **140,000 metropolitans** live in this area. Only heavy goods vehicles and light commercial vehicles (vans, vans) carrying goods are covered by the restrictions of the ZFE-m by 2027. Both wheels and passenger vehicles are not affected by the restrictions at Saint-Etienne Métropole. Saint-Étienne Métropole is gradually implementing the ZFE: — From **31 January 2022**, ** unclassified heavy goods vehicles** (transport of goods), i.e. put into circulation before 1 October 2001, and **light trucks also not classified** (in circulation before 1 October 1997) may no longer operate in this area. — As of **1 January 2025**, the traffic ban will be extended to heavy goods vehicles, vans and vans with a sticker **Crit’Air 4 and 5** (committed before, October 2009 and 2006) respectively. — As of **January 1, 2027**, the traffic ban will be extended to heavy goods vehicles, vans and vans with a sticker **Crit’Air 3** (committed before, October 2014 and 2011). In order to facilitate the integration of Low Emission Area information into mobility applications and route calculators, the data schema is in accordance with the [National Low Emission Zone Base](https://schema.data.gouv.fr/etalab/schema-zfe/) More information on: — [the site of Saint-Etienne Métropole](https://www.saint-etienne-metropole.fr/preserver-recycler/qualite-de-lair/zone-faibles-emissions-mobilite) — [the magazine of Saint-Etienne Métropole](https://www.semlemag.fr/qualite-de-lair/zone-a-faibles-emissions-moins-demissions-pour-mieux-respirer/)
