Dataset description

The 3D city model of Hamburg is available in two variants, which differ in terms of their level of detail: LoD1-DE and LoD2-EN Areas of application of the data of the 3D city model are urban and spatial planning, architecture and real estate marketing. However, the data of the 3D city model are also suitable as a spatial reference and basic information for the construction of geoinformation systems and for linking with or as background information for spatial subject-specific data for specialist information systems, for computational intersection and analysis with thematic information as well as for spatial planning of all kinds. All tasks for which a spatial reference is required or helpful are also part of the application areas of the 3D city model. These include, among others: » Energy, forestry and agriculture » Administration » Demography » Housing » Land use planning » Regional and route planning » Road construction and roads @-@ management » Facility Management » Traffic navigation and fleet management » Transport » Water science and water management » Ecology » Environmental protection » Geology and Geodesy » Culture, recreation and leisure » Communication Data quality (LoD2-EN): In the model of the LoD2, the roof surfaces are viewed from laser data and combined as type roofs assigned to the respective building. The model in the LoD2 is available for the entire urban area of Hamburg (about 750 km²), including the island of Neuwerk. The buildings of the LoD2-DE are also mixed with terrain information of the digital terrain model (DGM) held at the state operation. The data can be submitted in most common 3D data formats. The building floor plan is basically taken from the official digital property map. Fully automated standardised roof shapes are assigned to the buildings and aligned according to the actual ridge course. The location accuracy corresponds to that of the underlying building floor plan. The height accuracy is approx. ± 1 m. Coarse deviations are possible in individual cases with complex roof shapes. The building models in the LoD2 are floor plan compliant. Shared geometry is managed redundantly. )* If necessary, the model can be further refined. Through the photogrammetric evaluation of aerial images, roof structures such as gullies, exhaust air systems, light or elevator shafts can also be obtained. By adding vehicles, people or trees or modeling and texturing building facades, the 3D model can be further expanded and realistically designed. )* Source: ADV “Product Standard for 3D Building Models”
