As part of the Baden-Württemberg emission register, annual emissions for all major sources of natural and anthropogenic origin have been recorded since 1990. Separately according to individual source groups, the emissions of the relevant substances or groups of substances are spatially differentiated. Sources are defined as parts of the source groups with uniform emission behaviour and thus generally also comparable coverage. The spatial resolution of emissions includes point, line or area sources depending on the data situation of the individual source groups. In some cases, the input data only allows statements about larger spatial aggregations. In all cases, a reference to the municipal level is established.
The studies include the source groups:
Small combustion plants in households and small consumers and medium combustion plants as defined in paragraph 1. BImSchV,
Transport (road, rail, ship and airports with ground-level air traffic and motorsport);
Industry and commerce (industry: installations subject to declaration in accordance with the 11st BImSchV, Business sector: installations not subject to declaration in small-scale establishments),
Biogenic systems (i.e. agriculture, livestock farming, soil, vegetation, water) and
Other technical facilities (i.e. waste management, wastewater treatment, product application, gas distribution, biogas plants, mobile devices and machinery).
Further information on the survey methods of the individual source groups and the description of the uncertainties in the calculation of emission data can be found in the reports “Air Pollutant Emissions Register Baden-Württemberg” on the LUBW website at https://pudi.lubw.de/.
