Dataset description

The map shows the assessment of the potential water erosion hazard for the field blocks. The classification of the field block with regard to its potential erosion hazard corresponds to the arithmetic mean of all grid cells with their center in a field block. On the basis of this average, the field block is classified into its water erosion hazard class in accordance with Annex 2 of the Agricultural Payments Obligations Regulation. Cross-compliance rules to protect the soil from erosion will be adapted from 1 July 2010. The EU requirements require all agricultural land (field blocks) to be classified in water and wind erosion hazard classes (CC levels). The classification is uniformly based on the existing regulations (DIN 19706 wind erosion and DIN 19708 water erosion). The criteria for cross-compliance levels have been chosen in such a way that measures are prescribed only for highly endangered areas (field blocks). For water erosion two CC hazard classes (CCwasser1, CCwasser2) and a CC-Hazard class (CCWind) must be reported for wind erosion.
