Biosphere Reserve District C District Lüneburg

Part C includes parts of the biosphere reserve that are particularly vulnerable or in need of care. It meets the requirements of a nature reserve. Former nature reserves have been transferred to the sub-areas of part C. In area C are predominantly natural habitats characterised by natural conditions. Many areas that are habitats of vulnerable species or communities of wild plants or wild animals need to be cared for in order to maintain their function. Other habitats such as waters, wetlands, bogs or forests are mainly characterised by natural self-dynamism.
