Dataset description

Delimitation of the central supply areas according to the decision of the Municipal Centres and Local Supply Concept (ZNK), decided by the Bremish Citizenship on 23.02.2021. The stabilisation and further development of the district centres and the city centre as well as securing local supply in the districts remain the declared goal of urban development. In order for this objective to be effective as a framework for planning planning practice, a binding municipal concept for the development of centres and security of local supply is required. For this purpose, the Building Code provides for the instrument of the urban development concept (Section 1(6)(11) of the BauGB). Against the background of the overarching goal of a sustainable “city of short distances”, the spatial mission statement of a polycentral structure of Bremen is recorded. For the city of Bremen with the city centre, 15 district centres (including the two special district centres Vegesack and quarters) and 18 local supply centres, a total of 34 central supply areas are designated. The centre structure established in 2009 was thus largely updated. The central supply areas are defined spatially and worth protecting in the sense of the Building Code. They form the focus of further retail development in the city of Bremen.
