Dataset description

The KW-Verbund is an association of participating states in the field of oil and natural gas under the coordination of the LBEG-Hannover. The cooperation is based on bilateral agreements between the LBEG and the relevant geological services, respectively the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Transport and Digitalisation of Lower Saxony and the respective ministries of the Länder. The following countries are currently represented: Berlin, Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein. The aim of the network is to share interests and to continue activities in the field of hydrocarbon geology across countries. The LBEG advises and supports the acceded Länder in their tasks in the field of hydrocarbon geology. The cooperation consists essentially of: •Professional advice, information, cooperation in studies of national and international committees as far as they concern CHP exploration, production, gas storage and other topics. Expert opinions on the mining safety of KW projects (production, gas storage, disposal of process waters) in the framework of mining approval procedures. •Collection, documentation, preparation and evaluation of industrial exploration, production and storage data as prerequisites for the aforementioned tasks. Implementation of this data in the form of databases and specialised information systems (GIS). •Central Internet research for detection data of the oil and gas industry and the conduct of data inspections in the so-called “Dataroom”.
