Dataset description

The Geological Service NRW is the central collection point for drilling in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the drilling database DABO of the Geological Service, the digital layer descriptions of drilling and geological digests from North Rhine-Westphalia are stored and managed. The database contains scientifically revised data that open up the geological subsurface, some to great depth (the deepest hole has a depth of over 5 956 m), in the third dimension. The drilling archive contains information from more than 300000 holes and digests from all parts of the country. The database grows by around 6 000 new strata inventories each year.
