Dataset description

Based on soil type and storage density, sludge and clay soils of the loess areas, the tertiary hill country and the floodplains are the best conditions for a deep Rooting. Clay and especially sandy soils, as they are used for the soils of the pleistocene Lowlands, but also characteristic of large parts of the mountain and hilly countries, lower effective rooting depth. In the high and low bogs pleistoz low groundwater flux levels act as a limiting factor. In the Limit mountain and hilly countries, in the low mountains and in particular in the Alps the present solid rock or even high skeleton content of periglazial rubble ceilings physiological thoroughness.
