Digital aerial images Lower Saxony

The digital aerial images are taken from image planes as part of image flights in the ATKIS image flight program. During the image flights, a certain area is flown in the east-west direction. The images are taken in continuous flight strips in such a way that they overlap by at least 60 % in the direction of flight (from 2011: 80 %. Images of adjacent stripes overlap by 30 % each. In this way, the entire terrain is recorded seamlessly. With the help of corresponding devices, adjacent individual images allow a stereoscopic view of the overlapping area, whereby a spatial impression of the terrain is conveyed from a bird’s eye view.
