Dataset description

A rubble is the plastic reproduction of the terrain shapes in a color or grayscale image. The spatial impression is created by lighting with an imaginary light source. Hd foaming is the visualisation of a high-resolution digital terrain model (DGM). One pixel in the debris image corresponds to 0.25 m x 0.25 m on the Earth’s surface. Objects such as buildings and vegetation are not represented, as the DGM describes the natural terrain shape of the earth’s surface. In the case of hd foam, the imaginary light source is located in the northwest. An elevation appears bright on the northwest slope and dark on the southeast slope. Layers are colored with medium brightness. This expresses how strongly the surface of the light source is facing. By means of DGM1 foam, the natural terrain shape can be represented very plastically. Possible uses include, for example, merging with other geobase and/or geospatial data (e.g. presentation with leisure information), as well as overlaying with digital topographic maps or digital orthophotos to create a plastic terrain impression. The data can also be used as a basis for spatial planning, geomorphological analyses, as well as the detection of terrain structures of historical buildings (e.g. Roman roads or fortified ramparts). Hd foaming is not available throughout NRW. It is available for parts of the country for which an airborne laser scanning measurement density of 4 points per square meter is available (see metadata information ‘Points per square meter’)
