Dataset description
Description of the groundwater catchment areas of the public drinking water supply with a withdrawal quantity from 100,000 cubic meters per year for which no drinking water protection area is established or planned. In some cases, removals from different groundwater stock plants lead to overlays of hydraulically separated catchment areas. The term “drinking water extraction area” used in Schleswig-Holstein is not legally standardised. Therefore, own legally binding regulations for drinking water production areas do not exist. However, the term “drinking water extraction area” is introduced as a category in regional planning, since in drinking water extraction areas, in addition to securing public drinking water supply, the aspect of preventive groundwater protection is particularly important when considering other uses claims.
