Dataset description

The online map Earthquake events represent the earthquakes recorded by the Land Earthquake Service Rhineland-Palatinate since 2000. As shown in the description of the station network (http://www.lgb-rlp.de/fachthemen-des-amtes/landeserdbebendienst-rheinland-pfalz/erdbeben-stationsnetz.html), the LER is a locally oriented measuring network, only earthquakes in the vicinity of Rhineland-Palatinate are presented. A tabular list of the registered earthquakes can be found on the website http://www.lgb-rlp.de/fachthemen-des-amtes/landeserdbebendienst-rheinland-pfalz/erdbebenereignisse-lokal.html Terms of Use see: http://www.lgb-rlp.de/karten-und-produkte/online-karten/nutzungsbedingungen-fuer-online-karten.html:Die map of earthquake zones and geological underground classes for Rhineland-Palatinate refers to DIN 4149:2005-04 Load assumptions, design and design;hrung übliche Hochbauten" published by the DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V., Burggrafenstr. 6, D-10787 Berlin. Non-tectonic seismic events are not the subject of this presentation (DIN 4149:2005-04, Chapter 5.1). The impact within each earthquake zone is assumed to be uniform, except for the variations resulting from different underground conditions. For this purpose, a distinction is made between the geological underground classes.
