Dataset description

The synoptic data on hydrodynamics from EasyGSH-DB were calculated with the UnTRIM2-SediMorph-UNK family for the period from 1996 to 2015. Model configuration, calibration and validation can be found in the official validation document (https://doi.org/10.18451/k2_easygsh_1). Information on the quality and nature of the product years 1996-2015 can be found in the respective annual labels. In the following link, the user must add the year without “<>”: https://doi.org/10.18451/k2_easygsh_jkbl_< 1996-2015>. The synoptic data were converted from the unstructured model grid into a regular NetCDF grid with a grid width of 1.000 m and transformed into geographical coordinates. The time intervals were set at 20 minutes intervals. The time-resolved data on hydrodynamics in the German Bay are divided into annual slices of water level, current, ground thrust tension, seagoing and salinity. The spatial expansion of the ground thrust voltage was limited to the German 12 nautical miles high limit. The remaining result variables are spatially defined for the EasyGSH-DB product area. Method: The two- and three-dimensional mathematical method UNTRIM2, based on the method of finite differences/finite volume, is used to simulate stationary and non-stationary flow and transport processes in waters with free water surface. Unlike classical finite differences, UNTRIM2 works on an unstructured orthogonal lattice. The topography of the model area can be described with great accuracy using the subgrid technology below the resolution of the computational grid. A more detailed description of the program UnTRIM2 can be found in BAWiki (http://wiki.baw.de/de/index.php/UNTRIM2). Data: The synoptic data of hydrodynamics are available on the basis of netCDF files. Further processing: The synoptic data has been gridded and analysed, the products derived from it are under: — EasyGSH-DB: Harmonic Analysis of Water Level (FRQW) — EasyGSH-DB: Long-term parameters of salinity (LZKS) — EasyGSH-DB: Long-term characteristics of the seagoing (LZSS) — EasyGSH-DB: Long-term characteristics of the water level (trucks) — EasyGSH-DB: Tide characteristic values of the ground thrust voltage (TDKB) — EasyGSH-DB: Tide characteristics of the flow velocity (TDKv) — EasyGSH-DB: Tidal characteristics of the salinity (TDKS) — EasyGSH-DB: Find tide characteristics of the water level (TDKW) (see Subordinate Objects). For more information and the data download, the project page of EasyGSH-DB (www.easygsh-db.org) is available. English: Synoptic hydrodynamics data from EasyGSH-DB were computed using the UnTRIM2-SediMorph-UNK model family for the period from 1996 to 2015, inclusive. Download: The data for download can be found under References, where the data can be downloaded directly or via the web page redirection to the EasyGSH-DB portal or THREDDS Data Server.
