Dataset description

The demarcations available on a scale of 1:5,000 represent, mutatis mutandis, the official demarcation of the reported areas (reporting Germany to the EC) to the topographies of the German Basic Map 1:5,000. The border paths in the marine area of the North and Baltic Sea have been taken over unchanged from the official reporting scale 1:25,000. In Schleswig-Holstein, all bird protection areas and sites of Community importance (GGB or SCI) have been declared Special Protected Areas (SPAs) under national law (NSG, LSG or European Bird Conservation Areas, unless designated as NSG or LSG, in accordance with § 4 LNatSchG in conjunction with § 33(1) BNatSchG in conjunction with § 24(1) LNatSchG and the formally announced site-specific conservation objectives). Accordingly, all bird sanctuaries and all FFH areas in Schleswig-Holstein are to be designated as Special Protected Areas (SPA or SAC). In the context of legal protection of the individual territories within the meaning of Paragraph 32(2) and (3) of the BNatSchG in conjunction with Paragraph 23(1) of the LNatSchG, these delimitations are processed conclusively and legally bindingly. Bird sanctuary 0916-491 ‘Ramsar area S-H Wadden Sea and adjacent coastal areas’: In the north, the area extends to the territory of Denmark. The course of the territorial border in the marine area (especially north-west of Sylt) has not yet been bindingly mapped between the two States.
