Dataset description

The City of Halle also provides selected topics as OGC-compliant WMS. Advantage for the user: this data can also be used outside the environmental atlas web application in any modern GI system via URL. This allows the user to upload data via the Internet in their usual GIS, which they no longer have to physically have on site. As one of the first municipal specialist offices in Saxony-Anhalt, the Environmental Office is taking a big step towards INSPIRE and thus significantly improves access to environmental information. In order to enrich the hall’s environmental atlas WMS with suitable topographic background data, the OSMWMS working with the free OpenStreetMap data (see also http://www.osmwms.de) can be used.
