Dataset description

The excavability of the substrate up to about 1 m depth is an important prerequisite for the design of geothermal heat collector systems. The classification of the excavability is carried out in 3 main classes. Loosening substrates and deep soils are generally highly likely to be digable. Regions with flatter soils or gravel are largely digging. However, partially occurring solid rock areas can restrict the excavability. Sites with impending solid rocks without soil cover are poorly accessible and therefore not suitable for the construction of geothermal heat collector systems (with a high probability not digging). In settlement areas, a detailed on-site inspection is often required.
