Floor function card 1:25,000 (BFK25) — WMS

Soils fulfil important functions in the natural balance, such as the soil subfunctions of natural yield capacity, retention capacity for water, nitrate and heavy metals, acid buffering capacity and location potential for natural vegetation. Soil function maps evaluate the performance of soils in the natural environment. The assessment is based on soil maps (mostly overview soil maps i.M. 1:25,000) and other information on the environment and location. The LfU assessed these six soil sub-functions in three project areas and presented as ground function maps on a scale of 1:25,000 (BFK25). Soil function maps are created for other areas in Bavaria.
