Dataset description
The data set contains the stocks as the smallest forestry economic unit in the Free State of Saxony, with data from the forest database (WIS) for the comparison of areas. For each stock, the inventory address, the area and the comparison of the area from the forest database are indicated in hectares. In addition, the area difference is listed in hectares and per cent. The forest database depicts the forest classification, the medium-term planning and the natural implementation of forest economic units throughout Saxony. Forest economic units are formed within the framework of the forestry facility for each forest operation and updated on the deadline. The data collected, the so-called basic forest data, are the basis for the economic use of the forest. They are stored in the forest database as well as in geoinformation systems and visualised in various maps, such as the forest base map of the state enterprise Sachsenforst.
