Dataset description

The three-dimensional geological survey model of the lower subsurface of Lower Saxony and Bremen (TUNB3D-NI) was developed in cooperation with the State Geological Services of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony-Anhalt under the auspices of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials (TUNB3D-NI) in cooperation with the State Geological Services of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony-Anhalt. It maps 13 lithostratigraphic horizons from the base Zechstein to the base ruples, salt structures and fault surfaces up to a depth of 7 500 m in three dimensions. Shown are the 20 model tiles of the geological 3D model of the lower subsurface of Lower Saxony and Bremen (TUNB3D-NI). The model itself was developed within the framework of the joint project “Potenziale of the Underground Storage and Economic Area in the North German Basin” (Tiefer Underground North German Basin — TUNB) in cooperation with the State Geological Services of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony-Anhalt under the auspices of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials.
