Dataset description

The geomorphographic map (GMK25) is based on the digital elevation model in the grid of 12.5 m (DGM5) of Lower Saxony. It was used as a basis for information on the land map of Lower Saxony 1: 50 000 (BK50) developed. The derivation took place on the corrected grid (DGM25), which was thinned to 25 m. Simple relief forms are presented in accordance with the 5th edition of the soil-related carting instructions (Ad hoc AG Boden 2005). The depth ranges are shown from a catchment area size of 40 ha. They are subdivided by catchment area size and a relative “height” (lowering areas in the sink area, vertex areas in the sink area). The aim is to identify smaller clots and relative elevations in the main sink area. The slopes are divided into four groups of inclination classes (N 0-1 = flat to flat, N 2-3 = slopes with a clear tendency to erosion, but can be used for agriculture, N 4 = agriculturally unusable, N 5-6 = steep slopes with a clear inclination to gravitational slope movements). This summary is made with regard to the use for the BK50. Vertices are bulges in high altitudes. Like the slopes, they are separated into two inclination classes (N 0-1 and N 2-3). Extra-degree apertures are shown, as these are often extremely flat locations and/or the loosen main position is missing.
