The flood situation along the Elbe remains tense. The levels shown in the map were recorded at the time of recording of the TerraSAR-X scenes from 15 June and 18 June. The map shows the change in the water area of the Elbe and Havel in the Fischbeck/Havelberg area between 15 and 18 June 2013. The two water masks depicted were taken from a TerraSAR-X scene on June 15, 2013 (recording time: 18:52 CET) and 18 June 2013 (recording date: 07:16 CET) derived. The TerraSAR-X scenes have a spatial resolution of 3.25 meters, RapidEye data (recording time 2009) with a spatial resolution of 5 meters serve as a background image. Please note that the flood situation in urban areas, under vegetation cover and in areas with high gradients may not be fully detected due to radar geometry. This product was created within the framework contract “ZKI-DE” between the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
