Dataset description

Unter Gewässerstruktur wird die morphologische Ausprägung eines Gewässers mitsamt seiner Aue, seinen Ufern und seinem Bett verstanden. Neben der Qualität des Wassers ist die Gewässerstruktur wesentliche Grundlage für die Besiedlung mit einer gewässertypischen Flora und Fauna. Sie bietet geeigneten Lebensraum für Wachstum, Entwicklung und Fortpflanzung aller Lebewesen im und am Wasser.Insgesamt wurden in Niedersachsen und Bremen 866 Fließgewässer mit einer Gewässerstrecke von 10.209 km in 779 Wasserkörpern zwischen 2010 und 2014 nach dem Verfahren der Detailstrukturkartierung in Niedersachsen (DSK) (NLÖ 2001), welches modifiziert und an aktuelle Erfordernisse angepasst wurde, kartiert und bewertet.
