Dataset description

The data set Großtektonik Ruhrgebiet represents the most up-to-date state of knowledge for the distribution of disturbances on the carbon surface as of the end of 2017. The dataset is a dataset of the higher-level fault elements coordinated by the Geological Service NRW. The data is based on a combination of different data sets. The most recent data from the geological survey (1:50,000) were used. Where these were not available, the maps of the “Contributions to the deep tectonics of West German hard coal deposits (1985)” and the “Geological Map of the Ruhr Carbon 1:100 000 (1982)” were used.
