Dataset description

Data bases of a single comprehensive material analysis of the soils in Saxony, during which sampling was carried out in the grid 4 x 4 km. A total of 2 637 horizon-related samples were taken at 1164 sampling points and location and profile descriptions were prepared. In addition to general maps of geology, mineralisation, soil science and land use, there is an overview map for the organic circulation, the upper and lower soils for a variety of main and trace elements. For selected heavy metals, the mobile grades from the ammonium nitrate extract were additionally determined and presented. For each element, the substrate- and usage-related background values are shown in a table and a short text for characterising the element behavior is attached. In addition to the soil measuring network Saxony, grid 4x4 km, investigations were carried out on arsenic, heavy metals and other trace and main elements in areas with known or suspected pollutant loads (Radebeul, Ehrenfriedersdorf, Zwickau, Zittau, Borna) in the grid 1x1 km. For each of these areas, there is a report with evaluations of material soil pollution as well as a large number of maps. In addition to a simplified geological map, a soil map and a usage map for the individual elements, the substance contents in the organic cover, in the upper soil and in the subfloor are shown.
