Dataset description

The Hamburg Residential Areas Directory is a list of all evaluated Road sections (block sides) in residential areas in Hamburg. This is not an official list, but is intended exclusively for a proper classification of rental apartments in the residential area categories “good” or “normal” as the basis for creating the Hamburger Mietenspiegel. Blurring in the delimitation of the approximately 24,000 road sections assessed is compensated by the large number of data used in the creation of the rental mirror. For the evaluation of individual rental apartments, the list of residential areas can only give a rough orientation. It must be checked by the situational qualities mentioned in the respective version of the rental mirror in conjunction with local knowledge. The columns House No./Type, in conjunction with the street name, limit the graded section of the road. There are road sections with odd, straight and special cases with irregular or consecutive house numbering. The first house number of a line is the lowest, the second house number is the highest of a street section. Depending on the numbering (straight, odd or other), the intermediate house numbers must be assigned to a line. Information on the flat-rate assessment is provided in the housing departments of the Residential Offices.
