Dataset description

Based on the Saxon mileage sheets (1780-1810 Dresden specimen and Berlin copy), historical topographic maps were created in Saxony after 1872. They consist of the equidistant cards and the measuring table sheets. The partially coloured card sheets are available as scanned cards at the Saxon State and State Library SLUB. Of Saxony’s historical topographic maps, around 600 digitised sheets (156 sheets) are available. Editions) can be researched at the SLUB offer “Deutsche Fotothek”. Unlike today’s topographic maps, these are degrees division maps where Ferro’s zero meridian (17°40′ west of Greenwich) was used.
