Dataset description

Based on the HEM data (aeroelectromagnetics data) of the BGR, a map of groundwater salinisation was prepared at the State Office for Mining, Energy and Geology (LBEG). The map consists of two display units. On the one hand, the depth of the actual salt-freshwater border area for the areas where it was possible to identify the transition area. On the other hand, for those areas where the depth resolution of aeroelectromagnetic data was insufficient to reach the limit, the minimum capacity of fresh water was reported. In addition to the aeroelectromagnetic data, groundwater properties data were incorporated into the interpretation.
