Dataset description

The presentation service for the Hydrogeological Overview of Saxony-Anhalt is being revised and is currently not available (end quarter 1 2021). The data layer shows areas with different characteristics of the main aquifer. The legend units are used to identify units with different geological properties that influencing hydrological properties such as permeability and chemical environment of groundwater. Groups are formed by the superordinate structure in loose rock, solid rock and mining disturbed main aquifers. The pore aquifers of the looser rock comprise 8 stratigraphically and petrographically distinguishable units. The gulf and karst aquifers of the solid rock are divided into 16 units. For the disruption of the aquifer in areas disturbed by mining, areas with active mining and with relocated waste material are distinguished.
