INSPIRE BW Habitats and Biotopes Forest Biotope Mapping

INSPIRE dataset of forest biotopes in Baden-Württemberg. The forest biotope mapping (WBK) is carried out under the auspices of the Forstliche Versuchs- und Forschungsanstalt (FVA). The field survey is carried out by forestry-trained mapping. Forest biotope mapping collects on a scale of 1:10,000 specially protected biotopes according to § 30 Federal Nature Conservation Act, § 32 Nature Conservation Act BW, Biotopeschutzwald according to § 30a of the Landeswaldgesetz (Landeswaldgesetz) and biotopes not protected by law but subject to the self-binding of the forest owner. In addition, it has been recording and evaluating the forest and special open-land living space types in the framework of the FFH management planning since 2007. The data are kept in the Nature Conservation Information System (NAIS) of the LUBW and passed on by the LUBW to the lower nature protection authorities and the government offices. The first round of the WBK took place from 1989 to 2002. An update mapping has been carried out since 2002.
