Dataset description

The interoperable INSPIRE download service (WFS) Soil (Soil Geological Map of the State of Brandenburg 1: 300 000) contains the first use-independent soil geological map, which is available nationwide for Brandenburg (BÜK300). The map provides an overview of essential soils and is the basis for concrete tasks such as land, soil protection or spatial planning at the state level. The legend is structured according to substrate characteristics and consists of 99 units in which the guide floor mould societies are represented. The surface soil shapes that characterise them were covered by chemical and physical parameters, which are stored in a surface soil mould archive. This makes it possible to access the data of the digital card using different evaluation methods [AG-ground (2005): Ground-scientific carting instructions. — 5th edition, Hannover]. Further information is available at http://www.geo.brandenburg.de/ows/htdocs/Bodenuebersichtskarte.html and http://www.geo.brandenburg.de/lbgr/boden_gru. In addition, selected profile recording points are shown in detail. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the floor map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WFS includes the following feature types: — so:DerivedSoilProfile: A non-point-based soil profile that serves as the reference profile for a particular type of soil in a given geographical area. — so:ObservedSoilProfile: Representation of a soil profile found at a specific location, the description of which is based on observations in a mining pit or with the help of a well. — so:SoilBody: Demarcated and with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns of homogeneous part of the floor ceiling. — so:SoilPlot: Place where a specific soil test is carried out. — so:SoilSite: Area within a larger mapped, investigated or monitored area where a specific soil survey is carried out. — The compliant INSPIRE download service (WFS) Soil (Soil Geological Map of the State of Brandenburg 1: 300 000) represents the first use-independent soil geological map that is available for Brandenburg (BÜK300). The map provides an overview of essential soils and, with its evaluations, is the basis for specific tasks such as soil protection or spatial planning at state level. The legend is structured according to substrate characteristics and consists of 99 units in which the main soil groups are shown. All soils were characterised with chemical and physical parameters. This makes it possible to access the data of the digital map with different evaluation methods. Further information are provided at http://www.geo.brandenburg.de/ows/htdocs/Bodenuebersichtskarte.html and http://www.geo.brandenburg.de/lbgr/boden_gru. In addition, selected soil profiles are presented in detail. The content of the soil map is compliant to the INSPIRE data specification for the annex theme Geology (D2.8.III.3_v3.0). The WFS includes the following feature types: — so:DerivedSoilProfile: A non-point-located soil profile that serves as a reference profile for a specific soil type in a certain geographical area. — so:ObservedSoilProfile: A representation of a soil profile found on a specific location which is described on the basis of observations in a trial pit or with a borehole. — so:SoilBody: Part of the soil cover that is delineated and that is homogeneous with regard to certain soil properties and/or spatial patterns. — so:SoilPlot: A spot where a specific soil investigation is carried out. — so:SoilSite: An area within a larger survey, study or monitored area, where a specific soil investigation is carried out.
