Dataset description

The interoperable INSPIRE display service (WMS) Soil provides an overview of the thermal conductivity at Permanent Welke Point (PWP) — in late summer, thermal conductivity at field capacity (FK) — in spring, and the difference in thermal conductivity at field capacity (FK) — Permanent Welke Point (PWP). The thermal conductivity determines the property of the soil to transport thermal energy through reduction. It is the decisive parameter for the use of the soil as a heat source and storage and must be taken into account, among other things, in the application of near-surface geothermal energy (earth heat collectors) or in the construction of ground-mounted power cables. The pedotransfer function (PTF) according to Markert et al. (2017) used. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the floor map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WMS includes the following layers: — SO.thermalConductivityFieldCapacity: Thermal conductivity at field capacity (FK) — in spring — SO.thermalConductivityDifference: Difference Thermal Conductivity at Field Capacity (FK) — Permanent Welking Point (PWP) — SO.thermalConductivityWiltingPoint: Thermal conductivity at permanent weaving point (PWP) — in late summer — SO.SoilBody: Demarcated and with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns of homogeneous part of the floor ceiling. — The compliant INSPIRE view service (WMS) Soil provides an overview of the thermal conductivity at permanent wilting point (PWP) — in late summer, the thermal conductivity at field capacity (FK) — in spring, and the difference in thermal conductivity at field capacity (FK) — permanent wilting point (PWP). The thermal conductivity determines the property of the soil to transport thermal energy by conduction. It is the decisive parameter for the use of the soil as a heat source and storage and, among other things, have to be taken into account when using near-surface geothermal energy (geothermal collectors) or when building underground power cables. To calculate the thermal conductivity, the Pedotransfer function (PTF) according to Markert et al. (2017) was used. The content of the soil map is compliant to the INSPIRE data specification for the annex theme Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0).
