Dataset description

The interoperable INSPIRE representation service (WMS) Soil provides an overview of the characteristics of water retention in the state of Brandenburg. The map is based on the legend units of the soil overview map (BÜK300) with corresponding assignment of parametrised surface soil shapes determined by terrain and laboratory tests. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the soil overview map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WMS includes the following layers: — SO.availableWaterCapacity: The available field capacity indicates the part of the field capacity available for vegetation. This corresponds to the amount of water that an initial water-saturated soil can retain in natural storage for matrix potentials between pF 1.8 and 4.2.The reference depth is 1 m. — SO.availableWaterCapacityInRootZoneDepth: The available field capacity indicates the part of the field capacity available for vegetation. This corresponds to the amount of water that an initial water-saturated soil can retain in natural storage for matrix potentials between pF 1.8 and 4.2. The reference depth is the effective root space, which describes the potential extraction depth of the plant available soil water. — SO.availableWaterCapacityInRootZoneDepthWithOrganicSurfaceLayer: The available field capacity indicates the part of the field capacity available for vegetation. This corresponds to the amount of water that an initial water-saturated soil can retain in natural storage for matrix potentials between pF 1.8 and 4.2. The reference depth is the effective root space that describes the potential extraction depth of the plant available soil water, including the organic support. — SO.fieldCapacity: Amount of water that is retained in a soil volume against gravity. — SO.SoilBody: Demarcated and with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns of homogeneous part of the floor ceiling. — The compliant INSPIRE view service (WMS) Soil provides an overview of the parameters of water retention in the federal state of Brandenburg. The map is based on the legend units of the soil map (BÜK300) with corresponding assignment of parameterised soil forms, which were determined by field and laboratory investigations. The WMS includes the following layers: — SO.availableWaterCapacity: Available field capacity indicates the part of the field capacity that is available for vegetation. This corresponds to the amount of water that an initially water-saturated soil can retain in natural storage at matrix potentials between PF 1.8 and 4.2. Reference depth is 1 m. — SO.availableWaterCapacityInRootZoneDepth: Available field capacity indicates the part of the field capacity that is available for vegetation. This corresponds to the amount of water that an initially water-saturated soil can retain in natural storage at matrix potentials between PF 1.8 and 4.2. Reference depth is the effective root zone depth, which describes the potential extraction depth of plant-available soil water. — SO.availableWaterCapacityInRootZoneDepthWithOrganicSurfaceLayer: Available field capacity indicates the part of the field capacity that is available for vegetation. This corresponds to the amount of water that an initially water-saturated soil can retain in natural storage at matrix potentials between PF 1.8 and 4.2. Reference depth is the effective root zone depth, which describes the potential extraction depth of plant-available soil water, including the organic surface layer. — SO.fieldCapacity: Amount of water that a soil volume can hold against the gravitational force. — SO.SoilBody: Part of the soil cover that is delineated and that is homogeneous with regard to certain soil properties and/or spatial patterns.
