Dataset description

Natural risk areas should be addressed to geogenic natural hazards. In Saxony-Anhalt concerns exposure to subrosion or earthquakes. The data set of geogenic natural hazards caused by subrosion/carforation shall contain information on the hazard category and the type of natural risk according to the Inspire classification. The focus is on informing users where rocks are spread in the geological subsurface, which are subject to natural subrosion processes and at the same time can have an impact on the earth’s surface (potential hazardous areas). It was assumed that the subrodable rocks concerned were spread close to the surface to a depth of about 100 metres without any distinction in carbonate, sulfate or chloride karst. At the same time, the dissemination of events that have already occurred was taken into account. The already occurring and recorded subrosion events (earthfalls, lowerings, split breakages) are presented as single objects. This includes both recent and fossil events without distinction with a buffer of 100 m. The dataset geogenic natural hazards caused by earthquakes contains historical to current seismic events for Saxony-Anhalt with information on local occurrence, timing and intensity.
