LGRB-BW ORG: Sub-areas

The work area is located in the Oberrheingraben. It covers the distribution area of quaternary gravel and sands. They form the main aquifer. In the west, the Rhine forms the boundary of the investigation area, the eastern border is defined by the distribution area of the quaternary curler sediments in the Upper Rhine trench. The southern part borders the border with Switzerland in the south and ends in the north at the height of the northern edge of the Kaiserstuhl. It includes the Freiburg Bay in the east. The subarea Mitte connects north to the subarea South and ends in the north at the height of Malsch — Durmersheim. The sub-area Nord connects north to the sub-area Mitte and ends in the north at the state border with Hesse.
