Dataset description

The map shows all measuring stations of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) for monitoring the Gamma local dose rate (ODL) as part of the Integrated Measurement and Information System (IMIS). The ODL measurement network (see: [http://www.bfs.de/DE/themen/ion/umwelt/luft-boden/odl/odl.html]) currently comprises approximately 1,800 ready-to-operate measuring stations, each at a height of about 1.3 m, registering the gamma radiation above the ground surface and the ground-level air. The Gamma local dose rate is a measure of radiation exposure that affects humans from the outside (unit of measurement usually: Microsieverts per hour).
