Metrological detection of the northern chamber of the Sülfeld ship lock system — point cloud of fan echolot recordings

This dataset contains point clouds recorded by a fan echolot from the lock chamber. It is a survey system called “Hydromapper”, consisting of a boat, a fan echolot and a tachymeter. The Multibeam Teledyne SeaBat T50-P was used as fan echolot, which is attached to a telescopic rod at the bottom of the measuring boat. The position of the measuring boat is determined by a tachymeter installed on the lock platform, which is georeferenced using fixed points installed at the lock. The walls and sole were captured in motion at a speed of about 0.5 m/s and the closures standing from various fixed points. In order to measure the wall over its entire height, the echo sounder was positioned once in three meters and once at a depth of six meters.
