Dataset description
The theme contains all currently valid natural monuments, according to §28 BNatSchG, in the Hanover region. Natural monuments are legally determined individual creations of nature or corresponding areas up to five hectares, the special protection of which is necessary, either for scientific, natural history or regional reasons or because of their rarity, peculiarity or beauty. Two examples of natural monuments are boulders and single trees.
