Dataset description

The conservation of endangered species and living communities with strict regulations is in the foreground. Nature reserves are areas characterised by a large number of vulnerable animal and plant species and special location conditions. Due to their rare habitats, they have an important significance for science, natural science and local history as remnants of a landscape close to nature. In the district of Ammerland, the remnants of the formerly large bogs, excavation areas at the Aper Tief, wet oak-hainbeech forests and alder-ash forests belong to it.
