Dataset description
In 2009, the city of Braunschweig implemented the mandatory requirements of the “Environmental Noise Directive” as part 6 of the Federal Immission Protection Act (BImSchG). Here is the first stage of noise reduction planning, the so-called noise mapping. The data are determined by type of noise (rail, road, air noise, industrial, commercial noise). The use of the standarised stress indices, Lden and Lnight ensures that the data is comparable across the EU.
