Dataset description

At its 55th meeting on 17 June 2021, the Regional Assembly of the Regional Planning Community Lausitz-Spreewald adopted the substantive sub-regional plan “Basic Functional Priorities” as statutes. By decision of 28 October 2021, the sub-regional plan was approved by the Joint Land Planning Department of the Länder Berlin-Brandenburg. The approval was published on 22 March. December 2021 in the Official Journal for Brandenburg (OJ No 50). The objective sub-regional plan “Basic Functional Priorities” meets textual and drawing definitions on basic functional priorities in the Lausitz-Spreewald region. The Lausitz-Spreewald region consists of the districts of Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Dahme-Spreewald, Elbe-Elster and Spree-Neiße districts of Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Dahme-Spreewald, Elbe-Elster and Spree-Neiße, as well as the district-free town of Cottbus/Chóśebuz, in accordance with Section 3(2)(4) of the Law on Regional Planning and Brown Coal and Restoration Planning (RegBkPlG). Basic functional areas are the most functional areas of suitable municipalities. Only one basic functional focus may be defined per municipality. Through the legal validity of the sub-regional plan, the local districts defined as GSPs receive the extended possibilities for the development of residential areas and for the development of large-scale retail, as provided for in the Land Development Plan Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg (LEP HR).
