The map shows a selective distribution of the organic basal sequence (qhOB, STREIF (1998)) in the region of the Lower Saxony coast. It is a low-power sequence of peat and mudden, or Ah horizons of a fossil soil that occur in this area at the base of a powerful sequence of clastic holocene sediments (STREIF (1998)).
