Plenum Area Scene

Plenum is a new nature conservation strategy to achieve environmental and nature objectives not through public action from above, but on a voluntary basis together with the population from below. Plenary is committed to the conservation and development of biodiversity in large-scale, representative cultural landscapes. Building on the biotope mapping and the species conservation programme, the LUBW, in cooperation with the District Offices for Nature Conservation and Landscape Conservation and a scientific advisory board, identified an area cult with 19 core areas covering both nature reserves and typical cultural landscapes. From this backdrop, the plenum concept is currently being implemented in 5 project areas covering 13 % of the land area.
