Das Gesundheitsamt überwacht die Hygiene der Badegewässer zum Schutz der Gesundheit der Badenden gemäß der EU-Richtlinie über die Qualität der Badegewässer. (Nds. GVBl. Nr.3/1999 vom 05.02.1999) In 4wöchigem Abstand werden in der Badesaison zwischen 15. Mai und 15. September an den Badeseen Proben zur mikrobiologischen Untersuchung entnommen.
