Dataset description

Includes the current data and data over time for the Hamburg districts. The included records are marked by bullet points. In parentheses, the variable naming can be found in the stored data tables. Contains the key figures: Reference information • Year (year) • District_No (district_id) • District (district_name) Pupils • Number of pupils at primary schools (number_sus_primar level) For this indicator, all pupils of the Hamburg elementary schools as well as the pupils of the primary schools* of the Hamburg Special Schools were recorded. Reference is the place of residence of the pupils. • Number of pupils in upper secondary education (number_sus_sekunderstufei) The key figure takes into account all pupils of secondary schools in Hamburg. This includes the school forms of district school, high school, special school and the remaining 6-year-old primary schools. • Percentage of pupils in district schools in upper secondary education (part_sus_university schools) • Share of pupils in high schools in upper secondary education (part_sus_gymnasia) • Percentage of pupils in special schools in upper secondary education (part_sus_special schools) For the calculation of the proportion of pupils in the forms of school, only secondary school pupils were taken into account. The reference size for the share calculation is all pupils in upper secondary education. School leavers • Percentage of pupils without first general school leaving (part_sus_without graduation) This number also includes pupils with special educational needs. As a result of the respective learning impairments, a significant proportion of these pupils do not achieve a first general or higher-quality school leaving certificate. • Percentage of pupils with first general school leaving (part_sus_esa) • Percentage of middle school pupils (part_sus_msa) • Percentage of pupils with Abitur/Fachhochschulreife (part_sus_abi) In order to calculate these key figures, both the high school graduates and those pupils who obtained the school part of the university entrance qualification were taken into account. Only pupils who obtained these degrees at a general education school were taken into account.The reference size for the pupils is the place of residence. The proportion is calculated on the basis of all school leaving general education schools in the respective area. No or too small case numbers: The key figures shall only be reported in areas where at least 30 school leavers reside.
