Report: ‘Protection of proof Coastal protection Ley Bay: Macrozoobenthos (1996-2000)»

Extensive work on the eulitoral macrozoobenthos was carried out as part of the evidence-keeping investigations on the construction project “Coast Protection Leybuch” in order to investigate the impact of the construction project on the fauna of the adjacent cotton wools. The temporal as well as the spatial aspect of possible changes were recorded. The first results of the studies at 7 appointment stations from December 1989 to September 1995 as well as an overall mapping in 1995 have already been presented in an interim report (Soil Staff e al. 1998). This interim report provides an overview of the further development of the eulitoral macrozoobenthos of the Ley Bay and the Pilsum neck at the 7 terminus between 1996 and 2000. On the basis of these data, the question of changes in cotton fauna as a result of the “Coastal Protection Leybucht” is discussed in conjunction with results from previous photographs from 1983.
