Dataset description

“Summary of all sub-reports: With the results available, the colonisation processes in Kleipütten can now be described in their outlines. However, it is also apparent that the succession in Pütten is often site-specific and therefore results from one investigation area are not generally transferable to other areas. The data on the development of cottages were obtained in the Jadebusen and Elisabeth-External Groden, two coastal areas with the highest proportions of cloverage sites within Lower Saxony, i.e. around 12 % of the external dike area. The surveys were carried out over a period of up to 10 years in some cases different old pouches, so that data from a period of almost 40 years after collection are available. In addition, the same old cottages were studied in different areas, because already within a relatively small area significant differences in the development of cloverages can occur, e.g. in the western Jadebusen an increase in the landing period from north to south. The results of the individual sub-reports on soil science, vegetation, invertebrates and avifauna as well as the list of cottages in the overall context are presented below. First, the general development of cottages from the wattage connection to the stage of the lower andel grassland (about 10 years) as well as the long-term development and differentiation from the lower to the upper salt meadow (up to an age of about 30 years after wattage connection) is described. In addition, the effects of the spatial situation on the development of cottages will be clarified and the differences between Pütten and surrounding salt marshes are outlined. Details of results or methodology can be found in the respective sub-reports and should not be repeated in detail here.”
