Dataset description

The Land Drill Database has largely resulted from the encryption of analog drilling data from the Land Drill Archive into digital data. It forms the basic component of the Soil Information System-Saxony-Anhalt (SABIS). The drilling database describes localising, technical, organizational, layer and sample data from geological findings. The structure of the database is based on the dilution type SEP3 developed in the LBEG as an interface for the digital exchange of drilling data. Descriptions of the layers and documentation of the drilling are stored in the database according to “symbolic key geology” (LBEG, 2015). An online search for drilling contained in the Land Drilling Database is possible via an Internet map server application. The details of publicly accessible boreholes can be viewed via a profile view.
