Dataset description

Area-based representation of social spaces and/or social districts. The term “social space” is a synonym for a spatially limited unit that is considered from a planning point of view, without there being a universal understanding of it. It establishes a connection between the physical space (urban area) and the people who live in it. Depending on the technical point of view, the social or spatial perspective is of greater importance. The spatial reference frame in Hamm forms a division of the urban area into 9 social rooms and 27 living areas. The basis for the development of social spaces was the building block groups (small spatial units below the living areas) and the urban districts. One goal was to depict the commonly used terms “Hammer North” and “Hammer West”
