Dataset description

The Potsdam leaf (L3744) is the first sheet of the large scale soil geological map (BK50) in a scale of 1:50,000 for the state of Brandenburg. With this map for the first time, the soils are uniformly labelled for the state territory according to comparable methods throughout Germany, regardless of the type of use (in particular agriculture and forestry). The extensive mapping work underlying the map serves the calibration, testing, translation and reassessment of older test results (point and area data) as well as their addition and extension.
